FAQs
1. What is integrative counselling?
Integrative counselling draws on different therapeutic approaches to suit each individual’s needs. Rather than following one single method, I combine elements from various models (such as person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches) to provide a flexible, personalised way of working together that is most helpful to you.
2. How can counselling help with stress, burnout, or anxiety?
I offer a safe, warm and confidential space to explore what’s contributing to your feelings of stress or overwhelm. Together, we can work towards greater self-awareness, build coping strategies, and find ways to restore balance, confidence, and clarity in your daily life.
3. What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to counselling. We’ll talk about your goals, how I work, and any questions you have. There’s no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with — it’s simply a starting point.
4. How many sessions will I need, and how often?
The number of sessions varies from person to person. Some clients find a few sessions helpful for a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term therapy for deeper exploration. We’ll review your progress regularly and decide together what feels right for you. I offer sessions weekly or every other week, depending on your preference.
5. Is counselling confidential?
Yes, counselling is confidential. What you share stays between us, except in rare situations where there’s a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or where required by law. I’ll explain confidentiality in full during our first session so you feel fully informed.
